Yasmin Zakher is an American dancer, model, and actress. She is of Spanish and Egyptian descent and grew up listening to Latin and Arabic music. She is often recognized for her sensual Latin dance styling with a unique belly-dance flair, and she credits her cultural upbringing for shaping her special style and look.

Yasmin was born and raised in Los Angeles and- ever the Hollywood fashion- was enrolled in dance, acting, piano, and singing classes at a very young age. She was initially inclined towards ballet but made a switch during her pre-teen years. She was inspired by the hit TV show Dancing With the Stars, which ultimately made her fall in love with the Ballroom and Latin dance world. At the tender age of nineteen, she earned her professional certification to teach ballroom dance through DVIDA ( Dance Vision International Dance Association) with high honors, making her one of the youngest and highest scoring professionals to test out of the internationally recognized syllabus.

The road to dance and entertainment was not always clear. Yasmin had always been a serious academic and top student throughout her school days. She was accepted into USC's Viterbi School of Engineering, originally wanting to become a biomedical engineer. After one semester, however, she became disillusioned with the lack of time for her artistic endeavors. She took a leap of faith and leave of absence to pursue dance. Yasmin enrolled as a Dance Theatre Conservatory student in AMDA ( American Musical and Dramatic Academy). During this time she extended her training in modern, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, singing, and acting.

Shivani Thakkar of MKM Bollystars discovered Yasmin in a mock audition class, later asking Yasmin to join the company. Yasmin graduated from AMDA with honors in June 2013 and jumped on a plane the very next month for her first show with MKM Bollystars.

Aside from being a Bollystar, Yasmin competes and teaches dance at Arthur Murray Beverly Hills. She is mostly known for her expertise in specialty styles such as salsa, with her students gaining high marks at competitions. Yasmin is also a company dancer at Ballroom Dance Entertainment- run by Michael Kuka and Natalia Lind- and performs in a colorful arrangement of routines choreographed by Alicia Richardson. Additional credits to her teaching agenda are her weekly lessons with MKM's Academy.

Yasmin loves to teach and share her passion with people who dance purely for enjoyment, not professionally. She is happiest when on stage or rehearsing and  aspires to become the best performer she can be.
