Richa Shukla was born and raised in the Bay Area, California. She began dancing at the age of 5, and has been trained in Indian Classical dance (Kathak) for over 20 years. Aside from her classical training, she has been trained in other various styles of dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and Bollywood. She is a disciple of Smt. Anuradha Nag, a direct disciple of the legendary Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj. Richa has performed internationally including at the prestigious Bollywood Filmfare Awards in 2014 alongside Priyanka Chopra and Madhuri Dixit, choreographed by Ganesh Hegde. She was thrilled to have had the opportunity through MKM to do a 1 day dance workshop with the queen of Bollywood dancing, choreographer Saroj Khan. Aside from being a dancer, Richa is a full-time actress and has acted on shows such as The Mindy Project (Fox/Hulu).
